Have another Nutter Butter peanut butter sandwich penguin!

Nutter Butter peanut butter sandwich cookies. They look like penguins with a marshmallow belly, Tootsie roll arms, carnival peanut nose and feat. Nutter butters change shape to round cookie instead now.

Can you tell what each of the toppings used is? I couldn’t figure out what the white was to begin with, but after seeing the tutorial over at Hungry Happenings, I felt silly for not recognizing it.

I couldn’t even make this right now if I wanted to unfortunately. Did you know that they changed the shape to just being round cookies? Yeah, it’s pretty lame. :(

And I’m pretty sure if I used round cookies for these, they would turn out to be the most deformed little penguins ever.

Actually, this penguin plush toy might take the cake on that one:

Round penguin ball. Deformed fat penguin.

But they’d be rough regardless, so I’ll just drool over the penguins above instead. It’s not like I really like Nutter Butters anyway…. I only want to play with them. :P

Mashed potato snowmen – Pass the gravy please!

Vegan meatloaf with mashed potato snowman on top. Peppercorn eyes, pea buttons, steamed green bean scarf, and cilantro leaf arms with potato snowflakes on the plate.

Wanna know my favorite things about this little guy?

Of course you do! (The benefit of a blog means that I get to answer for you before you ever even hear the question. :P )

  1. They’re completely edible! Sometimes we have to resort to using non-food items to make the quirky theme come together, but it’s more magical when it’s all food.
  2. It’s savory! I’ve said it before, but cakes and cookies are easily to play with and turn them into creative creations. People don’t do it nearly as much with dinner items.
  3. It’s versatile! River from Wing It Vegan did what I end up doing often times; she experimented with other toppings that might make the look better. You’ll have to hit her up to see the ones with peas and black eyed peas.
  4. It’s easy! No fancy skills or tools needed here. It’s no more complicated than building a real snowman, but a whole lot warmer. :)
  5. It’s vegan! While I’m not personally vegan and have no interest in being such, I hate when I see vegans being completely boring by their own set restrictions. Who says you can’t still have some fun with the food?

General Mills – Free Movie On Us Tonight Promo

Oops! I completely forgot to post about this, so the news is a little old, but still completely relevant.

A couple months ago, my sister sent me a text (or an email? maybe it was a phone call first? hmm)…. Anyway, a package from MyBlogSpark and General Mills had arrived at the house. I’m staying on the east coast right now, so I told her to go ahead, open it, and enjoy. It ended up being free movie tickets and a box of cereal!

Now I’m used to offers like ‘free tickets’ not being valid in the area where my sister lives because it’s a smaller town and they don’t always participate in national promotions. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case with this and the following week, I got a text from her saying “Hey thanks for the free date night!” Awww. <3

That must have been one great bowl of cereal they shared…. ;)

I kid, I kid. They went to see The Hobbit and according to her, it was amazing. Even better. I’m glad I didn’t bother having her forward the package on to me and that they were able to enjoy and appreciate the tickets in my place.

This isn’t the first time that MyBlogSpark or General Mills has sent me items to review and as usual, I wasn’t disappointed at all.

If you want to enjoy a “Free Movie Night” of your own, you don’t have to enter any giveaways or hold your breath to see if you win. The promo is going on this entire year and all you have to do is buy a couple boxes of General Mills cereal. Most of you probably already do anyway and if you use coupons, that makes it even easier to get some free tickets.

It’s not one of those annoying setups where you have to send off for them either. Each box has a code inside and you just plug that into the movie site. You print off your ticket right there (valid up to $12) and head off to the theater. I was kind of surprised how many theaters are participating, too (check here), so don’t dismiss this if you’re in a strange area that doesn’t usually participate.

Have fun!
