Ring, ring, ring, ring, ring, ring ring banana phone! – Er, apples and bananas?

Ding, dong, ding dong, ding, banana phone!
Er.
Actually, here, have some lyrics. Watch the videos. Sing along. Have a blast for a couple minutes. Invite the kids over. Giggle lots.
Here’s the sped up version that you should’ve seen across the webs somewhere in the last few years.

(It's a phone with a peel!)
Banana phone, ring ring ring!
(Now you can have your phone and eat it too!)
Banana phone, ring ring ring!
(This song drives me bananas!)
Is Banana Phone not your style? Well then how about Apples and Bananas instead? I like to eat, eat, eat…
Now this brings back memories of Barney. I used to babysit a little girl who loved this song and it wasn’t uncommon for me to slow it down to sing her to sleep with it….or for me to speed it up and catch myself singing it while I worked at the library. Yeah, I was weird back then, too. ><
And you can thank the lovely Meaghan at Edible Eats for featuring Jill’s banana and apple phone picture at the top of this post. I couldn’t help but sing banana phone when I first saw it….and then as I was posting, realized it’s technically an apple *and* banana.
Maybe I could combine the two? *sings* Eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat…..apple banana phone!
Cooling ice cube necklaces

Genius. Take those little reusable ice cubes you can get at the dollar store (or better yet, at yard sales as everyone realizes they never use them anyway), tie them up in some old pantyhose, freeze, and then enjoy on a hot day.
The big square cubes are a bit much for me, but we used to have little round ones that would’ve been perfect for me instead. I do think it’s fun to have the different colors, though, and I bet kids would absolutely love them.
Here’s the video for how to make the base necklace using bouncy balls:
Well, once you get past Martha Stewart derailing the video to being about her gold-plated tools anyway.
For boys who think the colorful ones are too girly, try some black nylons instead. Or maybe make some bracelets or anklets with smaller balls even. Better yet, have them pick out their own ice cube variations and make it themselves.
Do you see what I see? Loch ness monster sea horse?

I’m guessing this was soy sauce. I don’t actually remember and I don’t have a picture of whatever the dish was before I ate it even.
I suppose the pictures in the sauce were just more interesting.
Do you see what I’m looking at?

See it? It really makes me think of a sea horse….the head and neck area. But the shape of the whole thing is much more loch ness monster-ish.
