The sun(flower)’ll come out tomorrow…

Sunflower Snack from Crafty Moods
Cute, eh? I know a lot of people who would look at that and say “eh, that’s too much work” but look at it. It really couldn’t get any simpler than that. Instead of leaving the cheese in rectangle slices, they’re diagonally cut in half, and within a couple minutes, they’d easily be laid out into a sunflower.
The center could be filled with other fruits, really, to turn this into something picky kids would love. Or it could work as a nice appetizer platter for a school event, a family party, and well, any kind of quirky party I would throw myself. :P

Stained glass jello blocks

Jello blocks like puzzle with cubes of jello and milk around it

Jello blocks! I actually think it looks even cooler before it’s turned into the white blocks, but either way, I’ve never seen jello made quite this way before.

Pan of different colored jello cubes

It’s a little time consuming to make, mostly waiting on each step to set, but not complicated at all. Our Best Bites has a full picture tutorial with more cool shots of this fun treat.

Kamaboko Spring bunnies (And maybe some Hello Kitty?)

Anna the Red’s bunnies

She made these for New Year (you know, year of the rabbit?), but with Spring here, I was reminded of these adorable bunnies. If you aren’t familiar with kamaboko, it’s a Japanese fishcake like this:

In a log like that, it’s perfect for Anna’s bunnies. And if you know how big Hello Kitty is in the Asian community, it won’t surprise you any that while I was looking for a picture of kamaboko, I also stumbled across several pictures of logs like this, too.
