Scalloped potatoes – Bake until burnt

2009, cheese, potatoes, recipes | May 19, 2012 | By

Scalloped potatoes is one of those dishes that started as a side, meant to accompany a meal and round it out, but eventually turned into something we wanted as a full meal.

Correction – We always wanted it as a full meal and would stuff ourselves on it regardless, but for whatever reason, it was still taboo to fly solo. Something about it being unhealthy…

But hey, I see meat, dairy, veggies…. definitely a balanced meal.

So how do you make them? Lots of layers, kid helpers, and this recipe. And if you’re anything like us, you better make 2 pans…

The full process of stuffing it carefully, wrapping it with bacon, slathering it with green sauce, etc, can be found on 9gag…..in large, glorious, drool-worthy photos.

I’m slightly disappointed that’s green chili sauce and not an avocado guacamole sauce, but any and all hints of disappointment are smothered away by the oozing cheese.

And in case you’re the kind of loves stuffed crust pizza, but never make it yourself. It’s super easy. Just spread your dough a little thinner so you have a nice thick crust available. Fold it over sliced mozzarella or pieces of string cheese even. To keep it from popping apart too much, try to tuck it under the cheese as much as possible instead of simply sticking it to the dough in front.
