Cutting boards shaped like states – Patriotic or useless?
AHeirloom was featured on the Kitchn quite a while back and since then, I’ve seen them in a few other places. They sell lots of different state-shaped cutting boards for 38 bucks. They’re cool, but I can’t help but wonder how useful they really are.
I like that they’ve been portrayed as serving platters instead, but then, is it really worth it just to serve on? Where would one store something like this anyway? Won’t exactly stack nicely, huh?
On a side note, I do love the detailing on some of the boards. Can you see the heart in the lower right of the state above? You can place it where your own city is!
When you get hungry, everything looks like food.
The title of this post makes me think of the old Looney Toons cartoons. When they get really hungry, everything starts looking like food, or when they’re out in the desert and they start seeing mirages. Mmmm.
For some of us, though, we don’t even have to be hungry to start seeing foods in other objects. The above is a great example of some cats that look like delicious croissants.
And people wonder why my kitty cries if you get anywhere near her….
Double rainbow cocktail shots – 9 shots, 9 colors, 1 shaker
“Take a shaker tin and fill it 3/4 with ice. Add Malibu, Vodka, and Triple Sec first. Tilt the tin and add Grenadine. Then add OJ and Sweet and Sour. Finally topping it off with Blue Curacao. Do not shake. Watch the colors layer as you pour. In LA we use 6 Rocks glasses with 2 ounces each. Meant for 2 people”
