A straw that detects drugs

Not just any drugs, but specifically date rape drugs.
- Rohypnol (Roofies)
- GHB (Liquid Ecstasy)
- Ketamine (Special K)
No matter what you know them as, they’re horrible ‘club drugs’ that are frequently used to manipulate women. Scientists have developed a new straw or stirrer that can detect them in drinks, though.
A person simply dips it into their drink and the sensor absorbs a drop of the beverage. If there is a drug present, it turns the previous liquid dirty and can be held up to a light to show that the drink has been altered. The initial testing shows 100% accuracy at detecting certain forms and more testing is being done.

As you would imagine, this drink is going to be extremely sweet. No, even sweeter than you’d guess based on the name. Look at the ingredients:
amaretto
whipped cream vodka
creme de cacao
white chocolate liqueur
heavy cream
assorted sprinkles
frosting
You’ll have to check out How Sweet Eats for the proportions to make your own. She does say you can use vanilla vodka instead of the whipped cream variety, but it’s not quite as “cupcake material.” If that means it’s not as sweet, that might be a good thing for you.
Even so, I doubt anyone should drink more than one of these at any given time. They’re quite pretty to look at, though.
What drinks pair best with cheesy chips

Cheese and wine? Nah, apparently the new thing is beer with….junk food.
And as much as I want to take it as a joke, this guy talks rather seriously about it:
You might be surprised, but a bit of classic pairing advice actually applies to the junk food example. For instance, most cheese-flavored snacks are vaguely cheddar-like. Things that work with cheddar cheese, such as IPA and stout, also taste good with cheesy (or cheezy) snacks. Beers that you might normally pair with barbecue, like stout or a Belgian dubbel, will elevate your barbecue chips, too.
It’s worth considering texture, too. Puffed snacks dissolve to slime in your mouth. You need a beer with hops or bubbles to clear away the goo. The same is true for Chester Fries, which leave behind a greasy film. Potato chips have a delicate crunch that doesn’t want a heavy beer. Nachos and Sun Chips are coarser and can take a bit of heft.
Then he actually breaks it down with several other chips, too. I can’t say I know anyone who would specifically pair their chips with a style of beer on purpose as opposed to grabbing whatever’s in the fridge, but it’s interesting to see which ones would technically go well together.
