Top 5 quirkiest posts of Quirky Cookery 2010

Uncategorized | January 1, 2011 | By

I don’t normally do posts like this, but it seems that even bloggers who don’t tend to do them are doing them this year. Who am I to say no to blogger peer pressure? Pfft.

1. Meat baby! This is by far the most popular post on QC right now. Given that I’ve seen the standard meat baby picture floating around the internet for years, I had no idea that making my own would delight people so much. I guess it does make a difference that I provided pictures of the cooked meat baby instead of just raw, though, ’cause even I was curious what it’d turn out to look like.

2. Breakfast egg “omelet” muffins. This one I don’t deem as “quirky” (unless you count how the sheer quantity I make at a time) but definitely something I make every couple months and is always a hit. It brings in the second most traffic, too, so we can’t be alone in liking it.

3. Cheeseball igloo and olive penguins. I’m going to have to remake this one. It was a flop in my book (literally, the igloo “flopped” and came out flat and melty instead of solid and igloo-like), but worth trying again.

4. Crazy hot dogs and spaghetti. So much fun! I heard people fuss about how it seemed like way too much work, but it didn’t take much time at all and was really fun to play with.

5. Thanksgiving turkey cupcakes. The kids had tons of fun with these in ’09, but nobody really noticed them until after 2010 hit, so they still count. :P
